Desert Dog Obedience classes are designed for pets and their families. From puppy to senior dog, we can help families and dogs learn to live peacefully and happily together!
Beginner — $130
Our six-week Beginner 1 class is designed with the needs of the family and family pet in mind. Emphasis is on basic obedience commands such as sit, down, stay, come, and walking on a loose leash. Using training techniques that motivate reliable behavior, students develop a well-mannered and confident family pet. Interested in the American Kennel Club (AKC) Star Puppy Program? Successful completion of our Beginner 1 class will earn you the Star Puppy certification.
Beginner 2 — $110
This four-week continuation of the Beginner 1 class begins the process of extending the skills and behaviors learned in the Beginner 1 class. We add distance, duration and distraction to known exercises and teach the basics of heelwork, stand for exam, and fronts and finishes.
Advanced Beginner — $120
In our Advanced Beginner class, dog and handler teams continue to build teamwork and hone the skills learned in Beginner 1 and 2. Additional skills developed include, finishes, distance recalls, formal sit and down stays, as well as basic Rally moves and skills needed for the Canine Good Citizenship test. This class is for those dog and handler teams that have completed Desert Dog Obedience Beginner 1 and 2 courses or with the approval of the class instructor. Students are encouraged to repeat this six-week class.
My Dog’s Got Tricks — $110
This fun, fast-paced four-week class teaches the various techniques needed for learning basic tricks and lays the groundwork for certifying your dog to be a Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced trick dog. Certification process and testing for these levels included but not required. Some basic obedience skill training required for this class.
